Azurite Fitness Beta 9 - V1.2.2 - Release Candidate 3

Updated: May 7, 2021

We are excited today to be releasing beta 9, which is our third Release Candidate build, with further bug fixes and improvements to give our users the best experience possible.

Here is what's new in version 1.2.2 (10412)

Image Selection launch

In today's update, we are making the new Image Selection features available in the app. Up to now, the only way to have access to the new feature was to activate Insider Access in the app settings menu. Now, wherever in the app you can take a photo or select from the gallery, you will now be shown the new interface, to give you the best experience possible in the most reliable way we can.

We have further plans to enhance Image Selection in the future, and we look forward to hearing your feedback about this feature soon.

Health Dashboard Changes

Today, we are introducing some major changes to the Health Dashboard for users who opt-in to Insider Access within the app. These changes are designed to give users the best experience possible as well as ensuring a more consistent experience across the app.

What users will notice first, is the addition of new "+" buttons on all the cards on the Health Dashboard, along with the removal of "Body Weight Tracking" branding. As we move to bring a more consistent experience to the app, we are ensuring that the focus of this Dashboard is Health, removing the focus the old subheading used to place on the screen.

The Health dashboard now behaves more like the Measure Dashboard, with the ability to quickly start tracking a new metric by tapping the "+ New" button at the bottom of the screen. Then, to add a new reading for a metric already being tracked, the "+" buttons give you quick and easy access to the "New reading (beta)" interface, which has been introduced with this update. The New reading interface is like that which is used to update Measure metrics yet is modified to be more specific to Health metrics, to ensure the best experience possible. However, we have designed it so that it sits right under your thumb, to ensure updating your metrics is quick and easy.

We are looking forward to hearing your feedback about this new Health Dashboard experience and its ability to help you stay in your flow.

Help & About

We have made changes to the Help & About page, to make it more useful and to make use of the power of Info Cards, to help you understand the features and what they are designed to help you with. We will be looking to refine and improve this experience so feedback would be massively appreciated!

Personalisation Changes

In this release, we are making Accent Colours available as part of the free experience of Azurite Fitness. This means you can make the app feel more personal to you. We know how important a personal experience is, so we hope this change respects this importance whilst also making the app more accessible.

Save Status improvements

We have made improvements across the app to improve the Save Status indicators, which let users know whether data has been saved or not. As a part of this work, we have not only improved the usage where they are already available, but have rolled them out more generally across the app.

We hope that these new icons and the removal of toast popups will provide a better experience across the app. We still have some yet to roll out, and we are working to get those into the app as soon as possible.

Gym changes

We have updated the gym feature so when you tap Log Session, we save your total sessions to a separate document, meaning that they will not reset every year like your year total will.

My Motivation Update

We are today releasing an update to My Motivation, which gives it more prominence on the Home dashboard. To make this possible, we have moved it to the top of the screen, along with incorporating the greeting card at the top of the screen into My Motivation. This allows us to show users even more of their selected image and motivation. We hope that this update allows you to get more from your choice of motivation and the images you select. We are always looking for feedback, so do let us know what you think.

Other fixes and improvements

  • We have improved the text boxes in the account screen to show the right type of keyboard depending on whether you're updating your name or e-mail.

  • We have updated the UI used when updating Measure metrics to bring it in line with the Health update UI.

  • We have fixed some issues that were causing behind the scenes issues for some users.

  • We have improved how some settings are saved to remove redundant code and keep things tidy.

  • We have updated Auto-BMI when no readings are available to make the features purpose clearer.

  • We have fixed an issue that would cause the app to crash when updating a weight reading if a user had not set their height, which caused Auto-BMI to fall over.

  • We have fixed an issue where the text box in the forgotten password screen always used white text, making it difficult to see in light theme.

  • We have made some small visual improvements to the Body Weight Tracking update screen for users who use non-Insider features.

  • We have added some info screens to the Dashboards to explain what features are available to users who haven't used them yet.

We are close to reaching the finishing line now, and we cannot wait to officially release the app on Google Play. Of course, all feedback is always hugely appreciated, head to Settings -> Feedback Centre to let us know what you think!

Keep up the hustle,

Tim C.
